Back in the old days, you could make a page that just said "Coming Soon" or "Under Construction" and you'd have a bunch of animated gifs to show just how Under Construction the page was.
This was always my favourite one. Lookit the little guy. Aw.
Anyway, people would go "Oh wow, under construction, I bet it's gonna be brilliant!" and they'd come back later on and find out how disappointed to be. These pages were everywhere because it was common practice to figure out what you wanted to have on your site, make the tree of links and such, then make one or two pages and get excited and upload the whole thing even though it wasn't even nearly ready.
Sometimes you'd never finish the page, and it'd say "Under Construction" forever!
